Art is a natural activity to support free play in children. The freedom to manipulate different materials in an organic and unstructured way allows for exploration and experimentation.
Imaginative activities for young learners can lead to better skills in social interactions and emotional regulation.
Art lead by the child with subtle guidance.
Applying technique with Art History lessons.
Experiment with different mediums.

Enrichment Education is the process of exploring questions like... “What do you see? What other things look like that? What feeling does that color mean for you? Can you think of a moment that..what was your best...your worst?”
Questions inspire deeper thinking, self reflection & discovery. Questions encourage the “WHY?”
Music or silence, there is a time for both. I navigate what activities spark the current moment most effectively. I essentially “read the room”. The mood, the energy & activity flow. A day could be action packed, another could be filled with books and whispers.
I get to know your child and judge what would be most beneficial for them at their current level of development and interests.
Your home is the classroom! In your child’s most familiar surroundings, adventure is to be found in every corner. Alison makes sure your child is having fun while immersing them in subjects they have a new or growing interest in. Every “student” has various interests at any given time...Alison serves as an enthusiastic guide to inspire curiousity & foster knowledge.
Everything on Earth..and beyond! Most of our lesson time is ART focused, but creativity has many forms. We have explored painting, musical instruments, plants, photography, board games, yoga, science, cooking, dinosaurs, creepy-crawling creatures, sea life, puppet shows, wildlife, nature explorations, tye-dye parties, soccer, keepsake crafts and memory books.…among many more. The list is truly endless.
We dig our hands in dirt and plant seeds, we make every handprint project in the world, we hunt for bugs and record our nature findings. We measure & mix ingredients, crack some eggs & bake healthy ( & sometimes not-so-healthy!) treats. We observe many Holidays and share the celebration with friends and family. A favorite activity is visiting the nearest library and playground, outdoor play is always encouraged!
With over 15 years experience with children, I can happily say I love what I do. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from Ramapo College of NJ in 2006. I knew I had more to offer! I took an alternate route and transitioned into teaching. I was a Pre-K & Kindergarten Teacher for a short time before progressing into Childcare/Enrichment Education in home settings. I work with infants, toddlers & elementary schoolers.
It is my JOY to assist with healthy development of children. Children are shaped by the environment that surrounds them and absorb new information at every moment. My philosophy is to teach the “whole child”. This means that besides academics; teaching the many skills children will need to become a well-rounded person. I believe that positive influence makes a giant impact on children’s development.
My hope for them is endless self-confidence and a lifetime of discovery.
All the Best,
Alison
